This smoothie started out a little weird but came out amazing! I had no intentions of making a smoothie today but I’m sure glad I did! I really just wanted some cantaloupe (that I bought for $2) but I’m not so great at knowing when they’re ripe enough to cut.. oops! My cantaloupe was still a tad too hard for me to enjoy just eating so DUH, let me juice it! I don’t have a juicer but I always just blend whatever I wanna juice up really well and then strain it into a bowl to get the juice separated (it works perfectly for me). Then I tasted the juice, ehhh too plain for me. Ah-ha! Let me put it in a smoothie. Initially I was thinking ‘cantaloupe, mango, banana smoothie’ but then I opened my bag of frozen mango chunks to find only 3 left – looks like someone has to go food shopping…..again. So I threw some strawberries in with the above mentioned and voila! This refreshing summery masterpiece was born.
- -1/2 cup fresh cantaloupe juice
- -4 frozen strawberries
- -3 frozen mango chunks
- -1 fresh banana
- -First, you'll want to juice your cantaloupe in either a juicer or blend it in a blender. If using a blender, once blended well, pour into a sifter or strainer (with small small holes) over a small bowl and let the juice separate. Once separated, you have your juice!
- -Second, throw all ingredients in a blender and blend until combined.
- -Serve immediately and enjoy!
