I heard about HelloFresh while I was job searching. Being a nutrition major, I was trying to find a job that was food and nutrition related but not as directly related as, say, a dietary aid type of position like that. I was looking into places like Graze, Hello Fresh, etc. I happened to come across a little post card in my magazine about this super cool company and just had to find out if they were hiring.
Welp, they were.. and I went in for an interview but didn’t make it past that. Wah! It was such a cool work environment and I loved it without even really knowing much about their product. After that, I decided I had to try them out, because, why not! I had a coupon code for $40 off your first box (3 meals for 2 people) which came out to be $30 for 6 meals. Since I’m a vegetarian now, I decided I’d get the classic box (for meat eaters) and get 6 meals out of it for Hellahgood (the boyf.. yes his name is Hellah). Totallyyyyy awesome because it saves you a trip to the grocery store and you each meal is $5 each- how great is that!
This post is going to be about my second order.. & beware if you start this delivery process because they charge you weekly and deliver if you forget to cancel! The first order was awesome, too, but I didn’t get to take any pictures because I wound up cooking so late every night and the lighting just wasn’t doin it for me.
Hellah’s three meals for this past week were:
Vietnamese Beef Stir-Fry with Basil, Coconut Rice, and Crispy Green Beans
So when you order, you get to choose 3 out of 5 or 6 meals that they’re featuring the following week to be delivered on whatever day of the week is best for you (I chose Monday). In the box, you receive all necessary ingredients other than oil, salt, and pepper and a recipe booklet with detailed directions and pictures which is great because you have the recipes for future if you LOVED one of your meals.
The meat/poultry/fish is kept below your boxed ingredient sets surrounded by freezer packs which are reusable! Each meal has its own box with the ingredients needed. For this order, it was noted in my recipe booklet that the Cod should be cooked first.
This week Hellah thought he would like the Vietnamese Beef Stir-Fry best but he actually liked both other recipes more. However, he didn’t NOT like the stir-fry.. but he’s usually quite easy to please. I was able to taste the Tomato Stew before I put the Cod in and it was soo great. I was also able to taste the Israeli Couscous salad and absolutely loved it, especially since I love goat cheese. All of the recipes are very easy to follow and are rated at different levels, so the first 2 were level 2 and last was level 1 for difficulty. If you cook, you’ll be totally fine to follow along.

*Most people don’t know, but when you are a member, you can give out 3 free meal boxes to friends for free as well! Super awesome and definitely should be taken advantage of while they still offer it!
