As you may know, I just recently experienced my first acai bowl and LOVED it! I had a nutella acai base with strawberries, granola, and a drizzle of agave on top. I’ve been experimenting since I got back from my vacation with all different acai bases and toppings. What’s so great about these bowls is that you can seriously make them however you want! You can make them thick, thinner (like a smoothie), chocolatey, sweet, bitter, there are so many options and it’s so easy! Seriously this is a 5 minute breakfast or snack. My first bowl was blueberry acai and I liked it but I wasn’t swooning over it like I was with this mixture! Feel free to add any toppings your heart desires- you can even make this into a dessert and add some indulging toppings if you’re feeling crazy. Check out my Smitten Saturdays post for more about acai berries and Sambazon.
- 1 Frozen acai puree package (I used a Sambazon Smoothie Packet)
- 1/2 Banana
- 3 Strawberries
- 2 Tbsp. Coconut water
- 1 Tbsp. Chocolate protein powder or cocoa powder of choice
- Throw everything in a blender and blend until smooth! Add more coconut water if too thick.
- Seriously easy to make and so easy to change up ingredients to make it taste how you like! You can experiment endlessly with this recipe!
Once you have your base done, add any toppings you’d like! My toppings of choice are coconut flakes, cacoa nibs, goji berries, strawberries, banana, chia seeds, granola, ground flax, and whatever else I have on hand! Serve immediately and enjoy!
